I am not a farmer, but I am learning how important they are to this country. My vote will be for the party that supports our farm families, and those who feed our cities.
Farmers DO matter, in every way! It's critical that we support our own.
Farmers are so important, what they do for the country needs to be appreciated and rewarded!
We need government to understand,WE NEED OUR FARMERS.My husband and I are farmers and are fed up with getting kicked in the head.
Ontario Farmers CANNOT continue to produce food below the cost of production. Our ONTARIO Government needs to recognize and value our rural communities and importance that agriculture plays in rural Ontario.
hope it is going to work we will support
Please support our farmers
I am very concerned that the erosion of our equity during these past years have caused our children to be not willing to live as we have in order to be a CANADIAN FARMER. We need to appreciate our food source and protect it for the future of this country. Canadian farmers need support - buy our product -it is safe!
I come from a long line of farmers in Sask. and have heard for years how they are having a hard time surviving. They have switched back and forth from grain, to cattle to bison etc to try to survive.
I am typically a Conservative supporter, however since the Conservatives took power several years hog farmers have received approximately 100% less support than when the Liberals were in power.
We need to support our farmers. I'm tired of reading the labels that say imported from:
How about Canada.
You have my support 100%
Please understand what Agriculture & it's related businesses contribute to Canada - Economically, Environmentally, & let's not forget, food production.
Government needs to understand Farmers do matter
I would rather support a farmer and buy their meat and produce anyday than buy at the supermarket!!!
I would rather buy fresh from the farmer than from the supermarket.
Without a secure food supply a country is vulnerable to being held hostage in times of drought... etc
Never met a farming family I didn't like! Be it buying hay, straw, visiting to see the calves, picking up kittens or sharing a beer after putting up hay...they are the salt of the earth.
Don't let Family Farms die in Ontario!
Farmers need to be united.
the family farm is under seige from high energy and equipment costs and cheep competition. when they are gone, the industrial farms will have no competition
I crunched the numbers on a 100 acre farm and without a off farm job, it doesn't work. There must be a way for young farmers to farm.
agriculture is not just a canadian concern, but important to all north america. what happens in canada affects us here in the usa also... and vise versa
WE desperately need our farmers to succeed in their businesses
If farmers cant compete they will lose their farms and jobs which will destroy the local economy....its not rocket science
Farmers Matter!
No one eats without them.
Growing up on a farm that has been int hew family for generations has shown me the hard work that is taken for granted
We need to be more aware of where our food comes from and how our choices affect all of us.
farmers are the backbone of America, Canda and the world.
Without farmers, what would we eat? And what would happen to our rural communities?
Support local growers. It's the healthy choice.
Canadian farmers need support - buy our product -it is safe!
I wish supermarkets would be obliged to show country of origin of foods.
You can also support our farmers buy eating at restaurants that buy local.
We need to be eating home grown food from local famers.
We may have places to live but we are not going to have anything to live on if we don't help secure the future of our farmers
We need the family farms
Support our family farmers, read labels, buy local
Stop closing local canneries, meat processing plants. I want to buy local and Canadian not fruit and vegetables from Third World countries.
We need a federal election to clean house and appoint a new Ag minister,,,, we need policies that will support the farm family.
Help!
I wish we had a Farmers Matter in NB - great work - whats next?
Good Work Farmers Matter!
Great Work Farmers Matter - Make a difference !
We Support our farm families, how about you
Agriculture matters.
Let's make the politicians take notice! Farmers feed cities.
Time to let others worry about other issues and put the farm vote behind farm issues.
Canadians need a domestic food policy along side our export policy if we are to feed our people. farming is dying a slow death because farmers can't compete with the food dumped on our market due to international agreements. WE need to support farmers by increasing support for agriculture, food food development and small scale food processing infrastructure on a regional basis. Investment in domestic regional food systems is urgently required--without a domestic food policy, we are extremely vulnerable.
I started a BC petition against the meat regulations and ran as candidate for the Green Party mainly because of their farm policies that supports family farms, not Monsanto. Farmers and eaters must have a choice and I as an eater cannot choose what I eat unless I know who grows it and how. This is crucial.
Farmers start the process allowing civil societies and cities. A fact up to now overlooked by our political masters. Thank you for this opportunity to remind them
Strength in community! Let's take care of our old, new and young farmers. Seems like most the regulations coming down the pipe on us farmers are punishing the small farmer, usually for problems created by large industrial agriculture. Does that make sense?
Security & safety of Canada's food supply is of utmost importance! We must get our politicians to listen! Agriculture is important to this country.
History has proven time and again that countries can not rely on imports to feed their citizens - government, it's time to create a national food policy. The Ag groups have done the legwork - there's no excuse not to.
Farmers are completely overlooked when it comes to budget matters.
Attend urban and rural all-candidates meetings and put ag on their radar!!
I started in this industry eleven years ago after a successful career within the federal bureaucracy. I now grow 120 acres of tree fruits. What has become a real eye opener to me is the amount of federal support other horticultural producing countries have not only through funding, but good policies that allow the farmers to sustain a good agricultural future for themselves, their families and their countries. We on the other hand have very little but words and no support in a good agricultural policy. It's as if our policy makers and the bureaucracy that supports them, are all in the back pockets of our major retailers.
Farming is a big employer in Ontario .There is no fresher and safer food than food bought from a local Farmer. The Ontario Gov't supports us with RMP now it is time for the Federal parties to understand the need to keep rural Canada producing food locally and not becoming more and more dependent on imports.
If there are no farmers, what would we eat?
My husband and I have a small beef farm. We both have to work off the farm to make a living.....
no agriculture ..no food
pas agriculture..pas de nouriture
farmers are not valued by the current goverment
Don't waste your Vote, use it.
Farmers we can't eat without them.
Ask ag-related questions at your All-Candidates' meeting!!!!!
Farmers feed cities! Canadian Cities! Don't let them be forgotten on the political agenda. We need more support for agriculture in Canada.
This is crucial. What is the best way to make RMP a reality? Let's work together & give direction for the biggest impact.
Count me in.
Count us in.
I am a farmer and this election IS important.
Having good quality food is not an option, we need to identify what we produce!
In our riding I plan to vote for Grant Robertson because I know he is the best candidate to represent the interests of farmers and of the rural communities and small businesses that rely on farming...
Farmers are so important to Canadians healthy eating. Buy local, buy from farms directly if you have to. Lets support our farmers. Used to be when I was growing up farmers got more respect. Lets make food security for all Canadians an election issue.
I am not a farmer but believe that Canada needs a national policy to support farmers and to protect our food system.
Our government needs to support all farmers which in turn support the local economy!
Raised on a farm in Perth County and, fortunately, the soil has never left my boots. We must send strong voices to Ottawa; voices that will present and defend the value Farmers provide to this country.
I think the rural vote should return to being the primary concern of our municipal, provincial and federal representatives. The protection of food land and the individuals who produce our food is as important as the protection of our drinking water. As the number of producers declines the urban population must be educated and informed about the direct relationship between farm issues and their consumption of food. Producers need to be recognized as business owners who make key decisions that impact everyone's daily lives.
If you ate today, thank a farmer.
Agriculture is my future. It's vital to mine, my parents' and my community's livelihoods that farmers are recognized for their importance to all of Canada.
I am a farmer's daughter, I would like to continue to buy locally; I support this platform.
I support those who are "outstanding in their fields" :)
